The Ill-Favoured Road

I am not running hard after some big hairy goal

But to learn one new secret as every day goes

My music is not about fusion, heavy metal & trance

Simple half-forgotten melodies is what I romance

I refuse to be dazzled by noise, neons and city sights

Leave me with my silence, stars, their flickering light

My money will not be spent for best address in town

But for a forlorn beach house with two beers down!

I refuse to wash my sins in the river –fabled and holy

Wild joyful streams soothe me, abstruse and lowly

My voyage will not end in a massive palatial resort

Small quaint village hamlet will be my lovely host

My memory will not be a statue sculpted in stone

But will bloom like a lotus in some pond unknown
