Riverside Originally uploaded by tina_manthorpe The yellow season of new leaves all time past, sunk in monsoon waters salty tears of your eyes your smell clings to me all day long blue bubbles of bygone memories your teeth-bites burn on my chest the gossip of hugging tummies phone ring kicks against the walls my room smells like a stranger to me dreams run like screen-savers of thought you tasted like an Indian curry TV channels zip in pale monotony all collapses in a single moment of feeling one with the land of five rivers

The Ill-Favoured Road

I am not running hard after some big hairy goal But to learn one new secret as every day goes My music is not about fusion, heavy metal & trance Simple half-forgotten melodies is what I romance I refuse to be dazzled by noise, neons and city sights Leave me with my silence, stars, their flickering light My money will not be spent for best address in town But for a forlorn beach house with two beers down! I refuse to wash my sins in the river –fabled and holy Wild joyful streams soothe me, abstruse and lowly My voyage will not end in a massive palatial resort Small quaint village hamlet will be my lovely host My memory will not be a statue sculpted in stone But will bloom like a lotus in some pond unknown

I write

I write to wipe off biterness and anger Of memories of my tribe killed in past life To atone for promises that I did not keep I write for peace, for forgiveness I write for dreams, For desires woven in remarkable designs For hope,for a thousand flowers For a brief moment when the world is not the same So that a difference is made to someone's life I write so that I can talk to some one in this cold, sullen city
